I’ll hold you as long as I can.

The laundry pile was a mile high, the sink was full of dishes, the countertops needed wiped down, but you needed me. In that moment, I thought I needed to get that done, until I realized- you needed me. So I sat on the couch & held you instead.

I needed to shower and look presentable, but you begged me to sit and hold you, so I did that instead.

I wanted to watch tv on the couch after a long day, but you asked me to lay with you, so I held and snuggled you instead.

There are a million things that I need to do, those things will not go anywhere. They’ll be there in the morning or the next day. But there is just one thing that will slip by faster than I know, that’s holding my babies. So I’ll hold my kids a little longer, even when there are things to do. When they request I lay with them, I’ll lay with them. They aren’t going to want their mama loves one day. So I’m going to hold them, as long as I can.
