4 years

I heard something once that said you only get your little kid for 4 years and if you miss it, then you’re done. It dawned on me tonight that next summer, my 4 years with my oldest is over. She’ll be 5. There is something so bittersweet about that. I’ve watched her grow, achieve, and overcome so much in 4 years. I'm so proud of her. It is hard to believe that it has went by so fast. I couldn’t imagine missing these last 4 years. These years of her being a little kid have been the best, most exhausting, but more rewarding years of my entire life.

My son turns 4 next summer. That means I only have 2 more years of having a “little kid” (cue the waterworks)

One of my goals as a parent is for my children to have so many memories/pictures to look back on. I hope they look back at their years of being “little kids” and think “Dang, we really did have so much fun.” And it becomes a goal for them in their lives to make sure that they live a life with good memories and love. I know these are memories that I will never forget and I'll always cherish.

I feel like the years have flown by since 2019 and I am not sure where they went. I feel like I missed them just because they’ve went by so fast. If you see me following my children around taking pictures, just know I’m in the moment as well! They might not remember all of these moments, but I will. I also come with pictures and videos to reminisce on.

Don’t forget y’all, you have 4 years with your “little kid” and as soon as those 4 years are over, your child will be a “big kid”. If you’re anything like me- you’ll love watching them grow and learn, but you’ll miss those days with your little kid.

Snuggle those babies! Big or little.
